Dr. Eric J. Williams, NBNA President, has given the NBNA Chapters and membership the charge to step forward to address the raging violence in our society by each chapter embarking on a violence reduction project that reflects our theme, "NBNA's Nurses Against Violence".

The Mid State Black Nurses Association of New Jersey has launched our violence reduction program in the area of reducing violence in the workplace. The TIPS FOR NURSES Dealing with Bullying and Lateral Violence can be applied to any work setting or organization.
The emphasis is on providing Examples of Bullying Behavior in the Workplace and Possible Responses to Bullying in the Workplace.
