Position Overview

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads the development and dissemination of publications and media for Capital Health School of Nursing (CHSON) admission, tuition, financial aid, academics, and events.
  • Develops a creative and effective student recruitment strategy. Assures policies and standards are maintained for selection and admission of students.
  • Evaluates transfer credits in accord with CHSON policies and determines legitimacy of transcripts. Monitors and assures that enrollment and student records are accurately maintained. Participates in acquiring affiliation agreements with clinical facilities.
  • Serves as a liaison with affiliated academic institutions to facilitate course registration processes and assists in resolving registration problems. Serves as a liaison with external agencies that provide student learning and testing resources.
  • Assures compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Assists the Dean and faculty in evaluating all clinical facilities in light course and clinical objectives.
  • Manages student compliance with health and background clearance requirements and provides necessary information to clinical facilities as requested.
  • Investigates and maintains documentation on students referred for disciplinary action and probation in accord with CHSON policies. Assures that academic and clinical remediation of students is carried out in accord with CHSON policies.
  • Assists the Dean in developing and implementing the Systematic Plan of evaluation (SPE). Collaborates with the Dean and faculty to develop, update, implement, and provide ongoing evaluation of the curriculum.
  • Identifies potential issues with academic rules and regulations, and provides guidance to faculty.
  • Collaborates with faculty to assure that course content is accurate, current, appropriate, and consistent with course objectives and program goals. Collaborates with faculty to integrate current educational strategies into the curriculum.
  • Reviews examinations using statistical data and reporting outcomes in collaboration with course faculty. Monitors and assures that grading processes are in accord with CHSON policies.
  • Assumes a reduced teaching load, if necessary.
  • Assists the Dean in analyzing effectiveness of the curriculum through examination of NCLEX/Mountain Measurements reports.
  • Assists the Dean in collecting data and preparing reports for ACEN, IPEDS, and regulatory organizations.
  • Assists the Dean in developing a projected budget. Participates in evaluating new equipment and instructional tools.
  • Assists the Dean with recruitment, selection, onboarding, and performance appraisal of CHSON employees.
  • Assists the Dean in planning, implementing, and evaluating faculty workshops.
  • Maintains professional currency in nursing practice and nursing education. Serves on CHSON committees as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Master's of Science in Nursing.
  • Experience: Five years of experience in nursing education. Experience with planning, assessment, and evaluation processes.
  • Other Credentials :Registered Nurse – NJ or Registered Nurse – NLC multi-state
  • Knowledge and Skills :Effective written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Teaching, presentation, and instructional technology skills. Knowledge of curriculum design, administration, and evaluation.
  • Special Training: Intermediate computer skills, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities :Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects and reprioritize effectively.

  • Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Standing , Walking , Carry objects , Push/Pull , Wrist position deviation , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion
  • Continuous physical demands include: Talk or Hear
  • Lifting Floor to Waist 35 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.
  • Sensory Requirements include: Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Accurate Color Discrimination, Accurate Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing
  • Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Bloodborne Pathogens , Chemical , Airborne Communicable Disease , Radiation , Dust/Particulate Matter
